The Night of The Mosquito
I've read all of Max China's books and loved them, but I was absolutely riveted by this one. I finished in record time because I simply could not put it down. I love the author's writing style and the pacing was great. He introduced all these compelling threads and wove them together and took me right along to the end. He is a master at creating believable and horrifying psychotic monsters. Much of the book is quite horrific but it does end on an uplifting note. The author is quite knowledgeable on police procedure and scientific methods. I found it all quite believable and I think that is what made is so frightening. It seemed so real ... so possible. I highly recommend all books by this writer but this one is, by far, my favorite.

The Crane Wife
A mesmerising psychological thriller that takes you on a tense journey into the mind of a traumatised veteran suffering from PTSD. Brilliant writing and a suspenseful twisting story that culminates in an exciting finale. 'The Crane Wife' is highly recommended and worthy of five stars.
