Where Did You Go?
Max China delivers a gripping psychological thriller in Where Did You Go, a tense and layered mystery that unearths dark secrets buried for decades. With a haunting disappearance at its core and a protagonist forced to question everything he thought he knew, this novel is an immersive, edge-of-your-seat read.

John Mason has spent years trying to move forward, but when an old friend pulls him back into the unsolved case of Julie Sanderson—the girl who vanished without a trace—his past refuses to stay buried. As memories resurface and suspicions grow, John finds himself caught in a dangerous game of deception and betrayal. Who can he trust? And why does his former mentor, Jim, seem so intent on making him the villain in a story he barely remembers?

China weaves a complex, slow-burning mystery that keeps the tension high from start to finish. The shifting loyalties, unreliable memories, and constant sense of unease make this a thriller that never lets up. With sharp prose and well-drawn characters, the novel explores the weight of guilt, the fragility of trust, and how the past never truly lets go.

This was my first book by Max China, and I’m already excited to explore more of his work. If you enjoy psychological thrillers that keep you guessing until the very last page, Where Did You Go is one to add to your list.

Where Did You Go?
I really liked this book. It was my first book by this author and I will definitely be reading more. Initially, I was a bit thrown, but by the 5th chapter, I was hooked. That ending as well, it just made me so emotional.
